ZCuAl10Fe4Ni4 is renowned for its very high mechanical properties and its ability to be extensively strengthened through specialized heat treatment. Typical tensile strength reaches 700–800 MPa, with yield strength above 400 MPa and elongation of 10–15%, depending on heat treatment conditions. The alloy exhibits incredible corrosion fatigue strength and maintains its formidable heat resistance in environments reaching up to 400°C (752°F). Even after prolonged exposure, the material retains excellent dimensional stability and mechanical integrity.

Crucially, this alloy possesses unique anti-galling properties (resisting cold-welding and surface damage during sliding friction). This is due to the formation of a stable, self-healing aluminum oxide layer combined with a fine multiphase microstructure containing iron and nickel aluminides.
